I’ve only ever been to Hobart, but here’s my perspective. Rent and housing is much cheaper than the mainland. Summers are milder than the mainlan the highest recorded temperature in Hobart was about 42C, compared to its closest mainl.

In Tasmania you can live in the hills or by the water – or in the hills with a view of the water. Or smack bang in the middle of a city.
