To achieve this mission, TLPI uses multiple strategies to seek remedies for individual children, as well as laws and policies that provide schools with. The clinic is staffed by Duke Law students who bring their compassion, commitment, and energy to the task of advocating for at-risk children. What is Education Law Center? Under the direction of clinical program faculty, clinic students provide legal advice and litigation or transactional assistance to clients on a wide range of legal matters from individual disputes or transactions, to complex litigation and policy advocacy, to creating property rights in intellectual property, to advising the development of new legal entities and organizational policies. All clinics are designed to develop the courtroom-ready skills that employers seek in career applicants.

Appellate Advocacy Clinic.

Interdisciplinary Child Advocacy Clinic. We are committed to ensuring students of color, students with disabilities, students from families with low incomes, and students that are otherwise disadvantaged have access to high-quality education. Clinical work provides students with hands-on experiences through actual client interaction.

The clinic curriculum introduces students to a range of necessary practice skills needed to succeed in the legal profession. Clinic clients include entrepreneurs, nonprofit organizations, government entities and individuals who have a difficult time finding counsel elsewhere. ELC is at the forefront of state-based efforts to improve school funding equity and secure essential resources for all students.

Our strategies include litigation, policy development, capacity building, communications, data analysis and research. Professor Bill Koski (PhD ’03), Director, Youth and Education Law Project: In addition to developing first-rate lawyering skills such as client counseling, negotiation, and oral advocacy, students in the Clinic are given the opportunity to take ownership of their cases and projects, reflect on their practice, and develop the critical quality of sound professional judgment.

Our clinic is a law firm within the law school and is staffed with eight full-time faculty members who have years of practice experience themselves. You will represent clients and client groups who can’t afford their own lawyers. Our clinic handles more than 1cases per year for a total of approximately 10hours of pro bono legal work. Fuchsberg Clinical Law Center provides students with unparalleled experiences working with clients and communities to address urgent problems, influence public policy, and improve the quality of legal problem-solving. Welcome to the Clinical Education Program. In our program, UND law students develop fundamental lawyering skills and values by engaging in legal advocacy on behalf of persons who otherwise would be unable to obtain legal representation.

These experiences lead to marketable skills that can assist students in their post- law school job search. The clinic is operated as a small law firm to familiarize students with many of the practice management systems used by firms throughout the country, including scheduling, conflicts checking, time and billing, case management, and specialized practice software. Kramer Law Clinic Center We were one of the first law schools in the country to start a clinical program.

We opened to the community over years ago, a long-standing history that demonstrates our commitment to clients, to the highest-quality representation and to excellence in education. No matter what area of law each student chooses to pursue, the experience of working in a clinic is transformative. It gives students the tools they need to solve the pressing problems of our time. The Education and Health Law Clinic provides legal services to indigent families in the areas of special education , early intervention, and other school discipline issues. The law school offers In-House Clinics and Field Clinics.

In-House Clinics are legal clinics housed within the law school providing legal services to actual clients facing current legal issues. The Clinical Education Program at the University of Colorado Law School condemns the brutal murder of George Floyd and many other Black Americans who have died as a result of racialized violence from police and vigilante actions. The building features suites for the clinical programs, enabling faculty and students to meet with clients in a professional, business-style setting.

Community Legal Clinics. UIC John Marshall Law School’s clinical opportunities offer JD candidates the opportunity to develop real legal experience at the JD level. Harvard Law School Clinics provide students hands-on legal experience under the supervision of licensed attorneys who are not only great practitioners but also trained in individually educating and mentoring students.

Learn in Our Clinics. The Stanton Foundation First Amendment Clinic will introduce students to civil litigation implicating First Amendment rights of persons and organizations otherwise unable to afford counsel for those matters. Casework will focus on free speech, freedom of the press and freedom of assembly. Its six law clinics offer students the opportunity to serve the community by providing good counsel, promote the rewards of public service and train in the actual practice of law.

Clinical Programs As one of the first law schools to initiate a clinical program, UW Law School is committed to practical experience as a part of legal education. Stetson Law offers students more than 3clinic and externship opportunities annually. With approximately clinic and externship courses at hosting organizations, Stetson joins a handful of other law schools across the country who guarantee that every student can participate in a clinic or externship course during law school.

Despite their diversity, all the clinics create an exciting and supportive educational environment in which law students are provided the opportunity to develop lawyering skills and to gain insights into law and the legal profession while providing vital legal services to people who need them.
