What is the visa for Canadians? If you arrive by car, bus, train, or boat you don’t need an ETA or a visitor visa , but you do need to bring the right travel documents. If you overstay your visa , you may be detained or arrested.
The period of stay granted will be determined by the Canadian Border Services Agency officer on arrival. You can go to Canada without a visa more than once, but you may have immigration hassles if the visits are too close together. A good rule of thumb is that you should stay away in between visits for at least as long as you stayed last time.
As long as you stay in the secured are of the airport, you will have no issues. If you choose to leave the secured area, your passport and ticket voucher will provide any needed information should an issue arise. You may be asked to provide additional details or evidence of your finances in certain situations. The passport should have at least months of validity when you apply. Some people may only need their valid passport.
