I was able to break even with house sitting and teaching online part-time. A few summers ago I went travelling for six months around Europe. It was one of the best things I’ve ever done.
Our Love and Road Travel Project turned into a life changing experience. Half of a year is gone and after the celebration (October 24th) we decided to put some numbers together and make our first travelling around the world spreadsheet. This year I went to find out. After a short jaunt with my family, I took off to backpack the continent solo for five months.

Apparently, there is no exact amount for the Europe trip cost since it significantly depends on several factors like the number of days, the cost of airfare, the choice of accommodation, the budget for the foo and the expenses for day trips (like museum-hopping and sight-seeing), unless you decide to travel Europe by walking. To start my trip, I took off from San Francisco (SFO) to Reykjavik, Iceland for $ 2one-way! I then spent about $ 4on other forms of transportation like buses, cross-country trains, and local buses and trains.
The figure may not surprise you, as there are many travellers out there who’ve successfully travelled with little. For me, though, it comes as an astonishment. Considering the area I was traveling through and how much I was hopping around on trains it was a bargain. So, can you travel Europe on a budget? The answer’s yes, depending on what you define as budget.

Travel insurance is vital, particularly when travelling for months. The upfront cost might seem steep at first but this will give you peace of mind throughout your trip. Nothing will kill your budget more than unforeseen hospital bills or having to replace lost luggage. We are thinking of visiting about 8- countries.
Up to children can travel with adult. For example, when adults are traveling , they can take children with them. If more than children are traveling with adult, a separate 1st class Youth Pass must be purchased for each additional child.
