It is now proving to be just as prone to iron chlorosis as silver or red maple is locally.

To avoid problems with Autumn Blaze maple trees , property owners must invest in regular tree care. Autumn Blaze maples can function in the landscape as fast-growing shade trees and as specimens highly valued for their fall foliage. However, like silver maple, Autumn Blaze tolerates poor soil as well.
